Empowering Our Local Community

Smoky Lake County Community Learning Council is a non-profit organization established under Smoky Lake County striving to bring lifelong learning opportunities to the communities within Treaty 6 Territory and the Smoky Lake County region. Smoky Lake Community Learning Council is funded through the Alberta Advanced Education Department of the Government of Alberta.

We are dedicated to Adult Foundational Learning. We identifying local needs, tailor learning programs, build bridges with facilitators, create an inclusive learning environment, integrate technology, engage our community, and offer training opportunities.

Our focus is grounded on an English literary basis and we work towards providing core English literacy needs and resources.

REGISTRATION POLICY

  • Registration fees must be paid in advance
  • Send one registration form and one cheque per course payable to the Smoky Lake County Community Learning Council and mail to Box 631, Smoky Lake, Alberta, T0A 3C0.
  • Registration also may be done online or by phone to the local contact person, but payment must accompany registration form.
  • A minimum of eight registrants is required for a course to run unless otherwise noted. A course may be canceled if there are fewer.
  • Students must pay for materials separately unless otherwise specified.
  • Late registrants will be charged full course fees following class commencement.
  • Anyone under 18 years of age is welcome to register in any of our adult course, provided that eight adults are registered, and the instructor approves.

REFUND POLICY

  • Full refunds will be made if course is canceled
  • Refunds for the Community Learning Council courses will not be made after the date of the first class.
  • Those requesting refunds prior to the first class will be subject to a 3.00$ administration fee.
  • Requests for refunds must be done in writing. This letter must be received prior to class commencement.
