Free “HelloAlberta” Program from AMA – roadside assistance and drivers’ ed for newcomers
Alberta Motor Association offers one year free basic membership for folks who are new to Canada (within the last 12 months).
The membership includes basic roadside assistance (4 roadside assistance calls) and 2 free online Driver Education classes. Courses available include Introduction to Driving in Alberta, Learner’s Prep, and Winter Driving.

Who Qualifies for This Membership?
This membership is intended for new permanent residents, international students and visitors with work permits. To claim a HelloAlberta membership free for one year, you must meet all four of these requirements:
- Moved to Alberta from another country in the last 12 months
- Currently have a residence in Alberta
- At least 16 years of age
- Be able to provide an accepted validation of immigration status
If you qualify, you can also add any of your family members from your household so they get all the same perks for no cost.
